The Women's Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE) is a nonprofit organization, which was founded in 2003 and is committed to the development and advancement of women in private equity and venture capital. WAVE achieves this objective through a series of developmental and networking events organized in financial centers each year.

The private equity industry has grown significantly over the past few years; however, there is a very noticeable discrepancy between the number of women and men working in the field. In fact, a recent article notes that there are only four U.S.-based, partner-level women in charge of putting together deals, which is frightening.Wave's goal has been to create a national organization with structure and resources to help women in this industry expand their professional horizons and make that number rise.

Since incorporating in 2004, WAVE has come along way. There is a tremendous opportunity for WAVE to grow into a stronger organization that women can turn to for networking and education in years to come. Your participation will provide WAVE with the robust framework of professional support that would allow the organization to continue to fulfill its mission.
